I came across this short film because I watched "Memphis Belle" over the weekend. The stars of that film included Eric Stoltz and Tate Donavan. "Jesus" and "Hutch" respectively.

Universal "Christ"
Or at least, the universal application of "Christ"...in comic strips! What an asshole.

The Wise Dr. Laura
I totally ripped this off from a friend on Facebook. But he ripped it off from someone else!
Read this recently and quite like it (it has been around the internet for a few years):
"Laura Schlesinger is a US radio personality, who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. She recently said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination, according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstances. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura which was posted on the Internet.

Even Sluts Deserve Healthcare
While religion has motivated progress in many areas, it has also exercised repressive and oppressive influence from time to time. Which is why I question the wisdom of extending some sort of "religious exclusion" for health insurance.
I suppose that a church could elect to not cover abortions for preachers if church doctrine is opposed to such things. However, they should be compelled to list all of the activities that violate their doctrine and adjust their coverage accordingly. Opposition to alcohol use comes to mind.
But the line I would draw would be at clergy. For those that go in for such things, staff and students ought to be considered sinners along with the everyone else.
For those that don't like it, I suppose that we could move to a national a la carte system that separates employment from health insurance. There are lots of options to be considered.
But allowing religious exemptions? Next thing you know some "church" will refuse to pay their minority staff as much as their white staff and cite Scripture to justify their actions.
Link for the strip below. Thanks to my friends in RACS for the pointer.
And since incendiary language appears to be the only way to elicit traffic and comments, expect more in the future. I respond to incentives!

Ten Years On...
I am not usually taken with overly passionate remembrances. I participate in a few only due to my membership in a veteran's organization; the VFW. While I have been known to 'wave the bloody shirt' infrequently, I am not terribly fascinated with such activities.
Yet here we are; ten years after.

This Promises To Be Good
One of my favorite strips is Sinfest. His take on religion is one of the most thought provoking that I have every seen. And I am a reformed Christian/modern skeptic!

Burn That Qu'ran - Iranian Edition
I think I could come to like these guys.
The biggest difference between these guys and the nutjob in Florida that did the same thing? The nutjob lives in a free country where free speech is prized more highly than religious sensitivities. As a result, the likelihood that he will ever pay anything more than a modest "price" for his "offense is quite low.
Conversely, the two guys in the video face a variety of pretty horrific deaths if their identities ever become know. They are courageous heroes in every sense.

Another Top Ten List
By Mike Higgs
To ten things people will NOT say when they see the Christian bumper sticker (or more subtle fish symbol) on your car:
10. Look! Let's stop that care and ask those folks how we can become Christians.
9. Don't worry, Billy, those people are Christians - they MUST have a good reason for driving 90 miles an hour.
8. What a joy to be sharing the highway with another car of Spirit-filled brothers and sisters.
7. Isn't it wonderful how God blessed that Christian couple with a brand new BMW?
6. Dad, how come people who drive like that don't get thrown in jail?
Dad, can we get a bumper sticker like that, too?
5. Stay clear of those folks, Martha. If they get raptured, that car's gonna be all over the road!
4. Oh, look! That Christian woman is getting a chance to share Jesus with a police officer.
3. No, that's not garbage coming out of their windows, Bert - - it's probably gospel tracts for the road workers.
2. Oh, boy we're in trouble now! We just rear ended one of God's cars.
1. Quick, Alice, honk the horn or they won't know that we love Jesus!
