I have expressed my interest in genealogy in the past in different places. Most of my work appears on Wikitree. This is a free service that allows you to assemble a family tree that may, eventually, connect to the work of others.
Courtesy of Wikitree, I receive a nearly weekly email suggesting connections to notable people. I have started a stand-alone page where I can collect those connections. The new page is now on the sidebar.
Thus far, I only have two people listed out of hundreds of emails that I have received over the years. Most of those relationships travel through marriages so we aren't genetically related. But in a few cases, we do share a common ancestor.
I also should offer the caveat that Wikitree is based on the submissions of individual users. Some users are a bit more rigorous than others. A grain...or ten...of salt is well advised.
